WOMAN CHARGED FOR ATTEMPTING TO SMUGGLE DRUGS INTO TAMWORTH JAIL

A 19-year-old woman has been charged after she allegedly tried to smuggle drugs into Tamworth Correctional Centre yesterday.

Police allege the woman was visiting her boyfriend, when a small amount of cannabis and methadone was found during a routine search.

She’s been charged with four offences, including one count of supplying a prohibited drug.

The Tamworth woman will front court on September 7.
