TWEED BOSSES SLEEP ROUGH FOR VINNIES
Setting up cardboard box beds, turned out to be trickier than expected for a couple of high-profile participants in this year’s Vinnies community sleepout.
Tonight 40 people, including businessmen and women, politicians and residents will huddle against the elements for the Tweed fundraiser.
Already more more than $20,000 has been raised for homeless drop in centre ‘Fred’s Place’.
“We offer a whole range of primary needs for people. That would be food, showers, washing machines and all the basics of life that people need.”
Tweed has one of the state’s highest rates of homelessness – more than 300 people sleep rough every night.
