The build up to the Netball World Cup now begins in earnest for the Australian side, with the Diamonds heading to Sydney today to finalise their preparations.
“I think this morning the sense of excitement ramped up and we’re finally going to Sydney it’s time for the competition to begin.”
The Aussies have been in Newcastle since Friday, completing a similar camp to the one they enjoyed before their gold medal run at the Commonwealth Games.
“So this one’s just a condensed version of that. It’s great we can come to Newcastle. We’re still close to Sydney. But it’s just a chance for us to touch the ball and get together as a team.”
