A vital counselling service in the Hunter is set to continue for at least another three years, with the state government confirming funding for the Financial Counselling Hunter Valley Project.
The organisation helps thousands of people across the region each year, who are struggling financially.
Member for Maitland, Jenny Aitchison, has welcomed the decision.
“When you see people undergoing job losses, retrenchment, that is so important. It’s vital for them to get back on their feet,” she said.
