The redevelopment of Inverell Hospital has taken another step forward with the state government today announcing plans for the $30-million project would be completed in the next 12 to 18 months.
Hunter New England Health will now work with clinicians and staff of the hospital, as well as Inverell council, to decide what will be included in the redevelopment.
The state government will also look at the option of building an entirely new hospital if it can be covered by the $30-million allocated to the project.
Construction can start once a design has been finalised.
