POLICE RELEASE IMAGES OF TWO MEN TO ASSIST WITH INQUIRY INTO TAMWORTH STABBING

Police have released images of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries into a stabbing at South Tamworth.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, a 46-year-old man was confronted by a man armed with a knife at his Petra Avenue home.

The house residents son, aged 26, ran out the back door, where four people waiting at the back of the premises, assaulted him.

When the 46-year-old man ran to assist his son, he was stabbed in the lower back.

The group stole the man’s wallet and prescription drugs before leaving in an older-model white Commodore sedan.

Police are asking for anyone with further information to come forward.
