WHEELCHAIR RUGBY TEAM INTO SEMIS

Port Macquarie’s Ryley Batt continues to be a standout for the Australian wheelchair rugby team at the Paralympics, helping his side defeat Belgium in the preliminary finals.

Batt and team-mate Chris Bond dominated in both attack and defence, helping the home side establish a 10-point lead at half time.

The Aussies kept pushing that lead, eventually taking down Belgium 58 to 43.

Australia now moves into tonight’s semi-finals against Japan, for a place in the gold medal match.
