Attempts by community groups to prevent the Deep Sea Fishing Club from going into liquidation appear to have failed.
Administrators announced late today that liquidation is the only feasible outcome for the club and that will be the advice given to creditors at their next meeting on Wednesday July 29.
Coffs Harbour City Council has also revealed that as trustees for the crown lands site, it will not be extending the club’s lease beyond 20-21.
The Save the Fishos group says the council decision has forced financial backers to lose confidence and withdraw support.
