TWO NEW CATHOLIC SCHOOLS FOR THE HUNTER

An $80-million investment in the Hunter’s Catholic schools…
The Maitland-Newcastle Diocese today announced plans to build two new high schools – one at Chisholm near Thornton and the other at Medowie.
While its year 7-10 schools at Lochinvar and Gateshead will be expanded to include years 11 and 12.
“we’re really filling the last piece of the jigsaw here and we’re very thrilled to have the chance.”
Already some 18,000 Hunter students are enrolled in the Catholic school system.
Once construction is complete, that number will jump to more than 20,000.
And students won’t just benefit from new facilities – the Diocese says the changes will also extend to the classroom.
The first of the two new schools is expected to open in 2018.
