Commercial pet breeding in New South Wales will be under the spotlight tomorrow, with the first of three public hearings into puppy factories getting underway in Armidale.
The inquiry will look at introducing a breeders’ licensing system and whether there is a need for a limit on the number of animals breeders can house.
There have been more than 330 written submissions received so far.
The hearing gets underway at 10.30am at Armidale’s council building.
