A fishing trip went horribly wrong for two men at Currumbin this morning when their boat capsized in the surf.
The vessel lost power as they attempted to navigate the bar, and got swamped.
Lifeguards went to their rescue.
“The lifeguards were great, they helped straight away, I thought I was going to drown and the guys were out straight away helping.”
“One of the boys might have twisted his ankle, but other than that they were fine”
The 25-year-old owner had only bought the second hand boat last week.
He’s not sure if he’ll be able to recover the vessel.
