Energy minister, Anthony Roberts, has announced the petroleum licence buy-back scheme will be extended for another three months. The scheme was previously pushed back until June 30. Mr Roberts says negotiations are continuing for several licences. “We understand the buyback is a difficult decision for title holders, which is why we have extended the scheme” However the new deadline is not final. The minister may decide to extend it futher, to give title holders an opportunity to participate in the process.
