A juvenile dolphin separated from its mother in a tidal lagoon at Yamba, has freed itself, after becoming stranded on Wednesday afternoon.
Attempts by National Parks and Wildlife officers to relocate the dolphin failed, but locals say there’s been no sign of the dolphin since Friday night.
Experts say such events are common in the estuary and usually end with a happy reunion.
