A new federal government initiative is encouraging schools on the Coffs Coast to get more students involved in sport.
Local organisation ‘Aussie Hoops’ is part of Basketball Australia and is just one of the activities on offer under the Sporting Schools program.
“We have a primary school competition on a Saturday morning, but what we’ve been doing is a pilot program for Sporting Schools at present, just at this school, Naranga, 300 went through the program.”
