WATER PRICES SET TO RISE AGAIN IN PEEL VALLEY
Peel Valley water users are set to be hit in the hip pocket next financial year with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission approving an 11.5 per cent increase in water prices.
High-security license holders in the Peel Valley will have to fork out more than $31 per megalitre of water.
That’s in stark contrast to water users in the Namoi, who’ll only pay $16.80 per megalitre and in the south of the state where Murrumbidgee water users will only pay $3.63 per megalitre.
The ACCC says high water prices in the Peel Valley reflect the high costs of providing infrastructure services.
