A man who led police on a high-speed chase along the New England highway earlier this year, before allegedly holding an elderly woman hostage, has been committed to stand trial in Sydney.
Eric Lance Fing will front Sydney District court on July 1, facing five charges including detaining a person to obtain advantage.
Yesterday, Mr Fing pleaded guilty to three other charges related to the pursuit, including dangerous driving and refusing to stop.
He will be sentenced for those matters in Tamworth later next month.
