VISITORS WELCOME AS FIRE STATIONS ROLL UP DOORS TO PUBLIC
Fire stations rolled up their doors right across the state today, with members of the public invited to check out what goes on behind-the-scenes as part of the Fire and Rescue New South Wales Open Day.
“We hand out information and we talk to people as they come through, maybe show them our fire equipment, our truck, our station. And yeah, it’s good insight into what we do.”
The event coincided with the launch of Fire and Rescue’s Winter Fire Safety Campaign.
A perfect opportunity to remind visitors to be cautious around the home as the colder months approach.
“We have an increase in our kitchen fires and heating fires. It’s more awareness of dangers of some of the heating.”
