More big names have been added to the field for the Australian Supermoto Championships to be held in Newcastle.
Multiple British champion Chris Hodgson has decided to bypass the Asian Championships in favour of the race here in the Hunter.
Fresh from performing a range of motorbike stunts in the latest Mad Max movie, Newcastle’s Rob Jones has also signed up for the unique event.
“Really looking forward to it. It’s never been done before, Graham Boyd’s going to put on a great event. Bring the people to the foreshore to see motor racing.”
Despite spending a lot of his time on a film set in recent years, Jones is still planning to challenge for the title.
“It’s very competitive. It’s the last round of the Australian Championship so you’ll have riders from all over the country coming to get that number one plate.”
