BAT PLAN IN THE WORKS

A stakeholder meeting will be held in Tamworth next month in a bid to find a solution to the city’s growing bat problem.
Council yesterday met with the Office of Environment and Heritage to discuss how the issue should be tackled, and it’s been given a $10,000 state government grant to develop an action plan.
There’s around 40,000 bats living in trees adjacent to King George Avenue, which have been blamed for power outages and loss of business for a nearby tourist park.
