“TECH NINJAS” HELP SENIOR CITIZENS WITH TECHNOLOGY USE

Keeping up with modern technology can be a daunting task for many of us, but a group of school students in Port Macquarie are helping to make it a lot easier.

St Columba Anglican School launched its Hi Tea for I-T program on Wednesday, which aims to help senior citizens strengthen their skill set.

“We’ve got lots of kids who are really proficient in the use of technology so we thought we’d harness those skills, invite the elderly of our community into our school and just showcase some of the things they can do, trying to alleviate some of that fear with technology.”

Participants are served high tea by a food tech class, and given one-on-one time with students to help nut out any of their difficulties.
