Avoca’s Adrian Buchan has shrugged off a slow-start to the World Surf League season, with a convincing win in his opening heat of the Lowers Pro in California.
Currently ranked 29th on the professional tour, Buchan recorded a 9.6 to take the win.
There was no such luck for the region’s other surfers, with Matt Wilkinson and Glenn Hall both eliminated in Round 1.
