A Hunter man who brutally killed nine puppies is being sentenced in Newcastle Local Court today. 25-year-old Nathan Thompson bashed the animals over the head with a rock on March 11 and dumped them in bushland at Kurri Kurri.
The Australian Federal Police has defended its actions over the Bali Nine, saying the arrests were not a result of a parent’s tip-off, and officers would have arrested the group before leaving Australia if there was sufficient evidence.
