AIRCRAFT CRASH CLAIMS TWO LIVES

There was tragedy in the north west this morning, with a microlight crash claiming two lives at Dundee, north of Glen Innes.
The aircraft came down at 10:30 on the Nine Mile Road property, where the pilot and passenger were believed to be staying.
Emergency services were called in but both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still at the site investigating the cause of the crash.
They say the Australian Transport Safety Bureau isn’t expected to get involved, with microlight crashes dealt with by the coroner.
