TEAM EFFORT TO RESCUE INJURED TEEN
A team effort was needed to get a 15-year-old boy to safety, after he fell three metres down an embankment in the Pokolbin State Forest yesterday afternoon.
The teenager, who was attending an army cadets camp, required the help of his friends to carry him up the hill to the waiting Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
“There was about 3,000 army cadets out there so we had quite a few and he was from a school in Sydney so all of his school mates helped carry him up so it was a really good effort on their behalf.”
He was flown to John Hunter Hospital suffering a suspected broken leg.
