Coffs Harbour Boardriders were runners-up to North Narrabeen in the final of the Australian Surftag Championships in Sydney yesterday.
They outclassed Bondi and Avoca and 29 other clubs in small surf on the final day to finish second.
“A lot of good clubs that had a lot of success and history in that surf tag series before so we were optimistic and we had a plan and yeah we’re very excited to finish, unfortunate not to win but second place,” said Coffs Club President Lee Winkler.
Shaun Cansdell was the stand-out for Coffs, narrowly missing out on being named surfer of the championships.
