LABOR PLEDGES $247 MILLION FOR ROAD UPGRADES

The Foley Labor Government has pledged $247 million for road upgrades across the North Coast, as part of its $10-billion infrastructure budget.
The funding would be distributed by the Northern Rivers Regional Organisation of Councils (NOROC) on a needs-first basis.
Lismore City Council faces an $80-million infrastructure backlog, while Kyogle is $25 million behind on timber bridge repairs alone.
Roads Minister Duncan Gay has slammed the election promise, saying it’s an unfunded con by Labor 3 days out from an election.
