PORT MACQUARIE LEADS THE WAY IN ELECTRIC CAR PROMOTION

Port Macquarie is building on its reputation as a clean, green holiday destination.
Today the first electric car charger, outside Sydney, was unveiled at the Observatory Hotel.
Renewable energy is one of the decisions that people make when they are choosing their accommodation destination so for us it’s a future,” director Chris Denny said.
The Tesla luxury car turned heads during it’s first visit to the region.
With a price tag of $97 thousand there are just nine owners in the country, but demand is expected to increase.
“It’s obviously out of my range but you never know I might move something at the council meeting tonight to see if the mayoral vehicle can be electric little do they know it might be a Tesla,” Mayor Peter Besseling said.
