Rick Stone is making no apologies for his side’s playing style after criticism players unfairly targeted Cowboys playmaker Jonathan Thurston on the weekend.
“I know we didn’t set out intentionally to do a job on JT. We know we’ve got to minimise JT every time you play against them and if you give him enough time and space he’ll pick you off.”
Stone has gone in to bat for Beau Scott who escaped a charge for his part in a tackle on Thurston in the Knights’ win on Saturday night.
“We’re happy to have our New South Wales and Australian back rower playing in our team every week, if we can.”
“He plays hard and competes hard every week and I don’t think you’re going to get too much different this week.”
