An energy giant says it hasn’t decided about the future use of the former gasworks site and a historic building at Hamilton North.
Jemena has started investigative work, as well as some minor demolition, ahead of remediating the contaminated land next year.
An environmental impact statement and community consultation will also be completed, with a decision on the site’s future still at least two years away.
