COFFS RUNNER WINS HAWAII MARATHON

Coffs Harbour runner Leah Fitzgerald has taken out the Big Island International Women’s Marathon in Hawaii in record time.

The 32 year old mother of three finished the 42 kilometre run in 3 hours, 5 minutes, and 53 seconds, just outside her personal best.

Her proud father says the win is a career highlight for his daughter.

“I think it’s absolutely fantastic, I think she’s worked very hard for it, she’s done quite well and to go over there and achieve that is phenomenal,” said Leo Hoskins.

Last year Leah Fitzgerald won the Australian Outback Marathon in Uluru.
