Wyong Council has been given the go ahead to dredge The Entrance channel, after receiving $200,000 from the state government.
Council was allocated the funds this week, and will commence dredging after the Easter holidays.
It follows community pressure, and will be the first time the channel has been dredged in about three years.
Meanwhile, a foreshore facelift at on the other side of the bridge is about ready to open, after council installed concrete blocks to prevent erosion.
The work include a space for boats to moor, and should be open in time for the Easter long weekend.
