An Upper Hunter man has been jailed for racially abusing two Muslim women in Newcastle last year.
Scott Papworth was today sentenced in Newcastle Local Court to a maximum of 12 months behind bars.
The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to confronting a woman and her mother in their car on Smith Street last October, yelling abuse and punching a side mirror.
He also admitted to punching a witness who came to the pair’s aid.
Papworth will be able to apply for parole next month.
