Police have released several photos of two men on a motorbike, as part of their investigation into an armed robbery at Mayfield West last year.
At around 6pm on Boxing Day, a man threatened staff with a firearm at the Supercheap Auto store on Maitland Road.
He then fled with some cash and jumped on the back of a motorbike as a pillion passenger across the road.
Police say the pair travelled through Warabrook, into the grounds of the University of Newcastle campus and then to Birmingham Gardens.
They also believe the motorbike was in Shortland before and after the robbery.
The first man is described as being Caucasian, aged in his late 20s with a number of tattoos on his left arm and leg, while the second man is believed to be in his 20s with a slim build.
