Passengers flying from Tamworth to Sydney will soon have another option, with Virgin Australia announcing it’ll provide a regular service.
The airline plans to offer flights between the two cities, starting May 25.
A 68-seater ART-72 Turboprop will take to the skies up to six times a week.
Qantas already offers flights from Tamworth to Sydney, and it’s hoped the added competition will drive down prices.
“Competition is part of the DNA of Virgin Australia,” said Virgin CEO John Borghetti.
“Ever since we repositioned the airline and indeed before that as Virgin Blue, it was always about competition,” he said.
