TILLEGRA DAM PROJECT BITES THE DUST
Around 6,000 hectares of land, previously purchased for the scrapped Tillegra Dam project, is set to be sold off.
Hunter Water has appointed Elders real estate to head the sale, with parcels of land to be sold via expressions of interest over a seven-week campaign.
Minister for Natual Resources, Lands and Water Kevin Humphries says it shows the project has well and truly been put to bed.
“There can be no stronger sign to the people of Dungog that there will never be a Tillegra Dam than for Hunter Water to no longer own the land,” he said.
Dungog mayor Harold Johnson hopes the sale is a turning point in revitalising the community and economy.
