POLICE SCOUR BUSHLAND IN SEARCH FOR WILLIAM TYRRELL
Police are scouring bushland on the Mid North Coast as part of their investigation into missing three-year-old William Tyrrell.
The search, which was instigated following new information from the public, is taking place near Houston Mitchell Drive and Long Point Road, between Bonny Hills and Lake Cathie.
Detective Superintendent Michael Willing said about 30 officers are involved, with the search expected to last several days.
“At this point it’ll be a search by hand, a line search.
“The information is only general in nature – we are searching, looking for anything, any evidence,” he said.
On Sunday, New South Wales Crime Stoppers appealed to 26 countries to help find the toddler, who went missing from his grandmother’s Kendall home on September 12 last year.
Investigators have also recently announced their intentions to speak with anyone who was within a one kilometre radius of the home on the day he disappeared.
We have spent a fortune looking for this child something they never do for any other person. Wonder what happens if they find the body will they hide the name of the person and say tragic accident no suspicious circumstances preparing a report for the Coroner which appears to be standard procedure when a child dies under suspicious circumstances. I think the family should pay the bills and not the taxpayer for the search as they can well afford it.
