NORTHERN RIVERS AUSTRALIA DAY HONOURS RECIPIENTS

In the Northern Rivers, six residents have received Australia Day honours.

Among them, Lismore fire fighter Ian Grimwood, whose 24 years of service has been recognised with a Australia Fire Service medal.

“It’s a great honour and one, one would never expect to receive and I just appreciate that there’s people out there that think I’m doing a good job”

Other local honours recipients include World War Two sailor Frederick Finch, international aid nurse Libby Bowell, Uniting Church volunteer Alan Hoskins, Byron writers festival founder Chris Hanley and long-serving teacher John Turnbull.
