WORIMI HORNET STARS AT AIRSHOW
One of the RAAF’s FA-18 Hornets has been given a new paint job.
Ground crews at Williamtown, where the jet is based, applied the bright top coat, designed in recognition of the Worimi people, the traditional owners of the land.
The artwork was formally unveiled at Victoria’s Avalon airshow and represents the outstretched wings of a wedgetail eagle.
The aircraft also features the pilot markings of the late Warrant Officer Len Water, the Air Force’s first known Aboriginal fighter pilot.
