It made headlines when 20,000 kingfish broke out of sea pens off Port Stephens earlier this year, and now after some repairs, the fish farming venture is about to resume.
Three of the pens were towed into Port Stephens on Friday, after repairs and strengthening work in Newcastle.
The project between aquacultre company Huon and the State government is now two-years into a five-year-trial.
