JEWELRY STORE TARGETS HUMAN TRAFFICKING

A Central Coast charity is raising awareness of human trafficking, through a jewellery store.

Monica Miller from Destiny Rescue, says all pieces have been handmade by women rescued from sexual exploitation.

The not for profit organisation funds the rescue and rehabilitation of girls from brothels in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.

  1. Human trafficking is a major global problem! Destiny Rescue does an excellent job rescuing the victims and helping with rehabilitation.

  2. I love that this woman believes in this charity so deeply. It’s great to see first world people doing stuff like this. I wish the local news would follow things like this more! We need increased awareness about how we ALL may pull together to help those in less fortunate places. I look forward to hearing how this charity store gets on. The jewellery is beautiful.   3. I agree David. I would have liked to see a bit more about HOW Destiny does this. The jewellery is beautiful, but without a back story and the ‘how’ behind the ‘what’ I am not sure how it all actually works. I think a follow up to clarify this would be helpful?
