A rescue is underway for three people on a damaged yacht, 150 nautical miles off the mid north coast.
The yacht, Ainmara, was on its way to Lord Howe Island.
A mayday was sent when, the yacht’s sails were damaged and it ran out of fuel.
Its crew members are suffering sea sickness and fatigue.
The search is being co-ordinated by AMSA using a fixed wing aircraft and a Williamtown based search and rescue chopper.
