PREMIER PROMISES A BILLION DOLLARS TO NSW SCHOOLS IF RE-ELECTED

Premier Mike Baird is promising a billion dollars to NSW schools if voters support his controversial plan to partially privatise the state’s electricity assets.
Mr Baird has pledged to spend $20-billion on infrastructure, with a billion of that going towards refurbishing up to 1600 classrooms and learning spaces in NSW schools.
The Premier stated that this was a “once in a generation” opportunity and will depend on winning his plan of leasing 49 per cent of states electricity distribution network.
“…If we’re given the opportunity in March to continue governing, that’s exactly what you’ll get.”
