Police are appealing for public assistance following the attempted abduction of a six-year-old boy in the state’s north on the weekend.
The boy told police he was outside a church on Caloola Drive at Tweed Heads about midday on Sunday, when a man grabbed him and began to run.
The boy yelled and attempted to kick the man, before he was released at the end of the driveway.
The man then got into a car and drove away.
He has been described as wearing dark clothing and driving a black car with metallic paintwork.
