PRESSURE MOUNTS TO REOPEN GRAFTON JAIL
Pressure is mounting on the Baird Government to re-open Grafton jail.
New South Wales prison officers are expected to cast a vote on Monday, over whether to make Grafton and Kirkconnell jail near Bathurst fully functional facilities .
The Public Service Association say’s its also considering refusing new prisoners into the system because of overcrowding.
Last week, state Attorney-General Brad Hazzard said upgrading Grafton Jail is under consideration.
It was downgraded to a remand centre two and a half years ago.
