Lake Macquarie sailor Chris Nicholson’s journey in the Volvo Ocean Race has taken another twist.
His damaged yacht, Team Vestas Wind, has been transported to the foot of the Italian Alps for major repairs.
But the boat is so big, there was a limited window of opportunity to move the vessel on the country’s narrow roads.
“It’s got to sit there for a couple of days, we can move late Tuesday night.”
Fortunately it arrived safely.
