Major restoration and enhancement works on Port Macquarie’s iconic Tacking Point Lighthouse, are currently underway.
The stage two works, worth $20,000 will see measures installed to prevent erosion and restore the banks, while the construction of a new set of stairs to the lighthouse will also be undertaken.
The Sunrise Rotary Club and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council are overseeing the project, which is the first part of the masterplan for the headland.
Weather permitting, stage two should be complete in three weeks.
