MARTIAL ARTS FIGHTER SAVES WOMAN DURING MAITLAND ROBBERY

A martial arts specialist has saved a woman who was allegedly stabbed and attacked by two men in her car at Maitland.
The 40-year-old woman was packing her things ready to go to the gym on Tuesday morning, when two men approached her car.
Police say she tried to lock the door, but the pair pulled it open.
The woman began screaming for help and thrashed her legs towards them, but was stabbed in the leg by one as the other grabbed her handbag.
27-year-old Marc Grayson heard her screams and chased the pair, using his jiu jitsu training to tackle one to the ground.
A council worker also stepped in to help, but the second man escaped.
The detained man was arrested and is expected to face Maitland Local Court in June, charged with aggravated robbery, carrying a weapon on apprehension and resisting arrest.
Police are confident of finding the second person involved.
