The West Byron Sewerage Treatment Plant, has become a lot more environmentally friendly.
Byron Council recently installed a 50 kilowatt solar system on the roof of the existing building.
The system will meet 20 per cent of the daylight energy demands, drastically reducing the costs to council.
It’ll also cut council’s carbon footprint by 71 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions every year.
