ONE IN FOUR HUNTER DRIVERS TEST POSITIVE FOR DRUGS

It’s not the way the region’s police wanted to start the new year, with yesterday’s extensive drug and alcohol operation proving Novocastrians are not heeding safety warnings.
One in four drivers tested positive for drugs, leaving police pleading with drivers to think before getting behind the wheel.
“If you are going to use illicit drugs, do not drive a motor vehicle, we would prefer you not to use them at all. If you are going to have some alcohol, use your plan B. Have a designated driver and make it home safely,” says Highway Patrol Seargent Michael Muddle.
