A man is fighting for his life in hospital, following a citizens’ arrest in Newcastle early this morning.
Police say the 34-year-old was detained by two other men, after an alleged attempt to break into a home at Hamilton at around 3am.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition… one of the other men was treated for facial injuries.
No charges have been laid.
